Managing Director, Mortgage Finance
Christopher Maldonado is a Managing Director at Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L. P. Mr. Maldonado’s experience in Mortgage Finance covers 35 years at different sectors of the industry including commercial banking, mortgage banking, consulting, and investment banking.
Mr. Maldonado evaluates and qualifies clients’ asset portfolios to identify strategic opportunities to achieve clients’ goals (balance sheet restructuring, gain/loss exit strategies, GSE securitizations, and private placements). He works interactively with client senior and middle management to derive best execution scenarios for seasoned and non-seasoned portfolios. He also performs operational reviews of various loan origination and/or servicing operations to support the feasibility/execution of identified strategic transactions as well as merger/acquisition and joint venture opportunities.
In addition to Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P., Mr. Maldonado has worked for ICM Mortgage Co., Chase Manhattan Bank, American Mortgage Banking, Ltd, Goldman Sachs & Co., and The Clayton Group. He has functioned as a MBS Associate (Goldman Sachs), Loan Acquisition Manager (American Mortgage), a Warehouse Lending Administrative Team Leader (Chase), and Consulting/Advisory Services Practice Manager (Clayton).
Mr. Maldonado received a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Real Estate from Bernard M. Baruch College (CUNY).
